Friday Health Plan Customers Need to Select a New Plan Now

It’s the last day for Friday Health Plans customers to choose another plan without a lapse in coverage. While these customers will still have a chance to pick another plan, they will not have coverage tomorrow if they do not enroll by the end of the day today. We shared a reminder this week that our Brokers and Assisters are standing by to help. As of earlier this week, about 69 percent of Connect for Health Colorado customers have re-enrolled in a new plan, and about 64 percent of Colorado Connect customers have re-enrolled. I hope that we can reach all customers in time, so no one is left without health insurance next month.

Statewide Visits

As mentioned in my last blog, I have started my statewide visits to meet with community leaders. Last week, I visited the southwestern part of the state, meeting with valued stakeholders in Durango. I connected with many of our enrollment Brokers and community-based Assisters who work hard to help complete a large majority of our enrollments in the Four Corners area. It’s always a treat to see these folks in person, hearing of their successes and challenges when it comes to assisting individuals and families with their health insurance enrollments. We heard many touching customer stories related to the OmniSalud program as well as barriers with issuers leaving the Marketplace.

Next month, I will visit Colorado Springs and Grand Junction. I look forward to these opportunities to connect.

Connecting at NASHP

I also recently attended the National Academy for State Health Policy conference in Boston where I spoke on a panel to other state marketplace leaders about how we are advancing access, affordability and choice for Coloradans.
