Stay Alert!
Health insurance scammers are extremely active in Colorado, both during and outside of Open Enrollment. The scams range from fraudsters impersonating Connect for Health Colorado and levying unnecessary enrollment fees to impersonating legitimate insurance brokers to sell fake health insurance plans.
When a scam is successful, the victim believes they have coverage and makes decisions based on the expectation of coverage, which can set them up for, at best, financial loss, and at worst, medical bankruptcy.
