The Marketplace opened the Special Enrollment period on March 20 in response to the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Uninsured residents have nine days left to enroll for coverage that begins on May 1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\ncreated this enrollment opportunity to relieve some stress for thousands of\nfamilies who are trying to figure out their health coverage needs during this\ntime.\u201d said Chief Executive Officer Kevin Patterson. \u201cI encourage residents who\nare uninsured to sign up before the April 30 deadline.\u201d&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coloradans\nwho have had a change in job, income or living situation should contact Connect\nfor Health Colorado to find what health care coverage and financial help could\nbe available. In addition to the COVID-19 Special Enrollment period, residents\nmight qualify for a 60-day <a href=\"https:\/\/connectforhealthco.com\/get-started\/when-can-i-buy-insurance\/\">Special Enrollment\nperiod<\/a>\nthat allows them to sign up for a new health insurance plan or to change their\ncurrent plan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Business\nowners who are looking for options as employee insurance benefits end can\ndirect employees to Connect for Health Colorado to enroll. Our plans are often\nfar more affordable than COBRA, and we offer financial help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As\na reminder, Connect for Health Colorado only sells health insurance plans with\na full package of benefits, known as Qualified Health Plans. Plans sold outside\nof the Marketplace may only cover a limited number of injuries or diseases. The\nColorado Division of Insurance is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colorado.gov\/pacific\/dora\/news\/consumer-alert-division-insurance-warns-coloradans-about-high-pressure-sales-tactics-health\">warning consumers<\/a> about marketing\norganizations and agents using misleading tactics to sell products that are not\nQualified Health Plans.
