People who enroll during the extended timeframe will have coverage as of May 1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBy extending\nthe Special Enrollment period, we are doing our part to help Coloradans get the\nhealth coverage they need,\u201d said Chief Executive Officer Kevin Patterson. \u201cIf\nyou are experiencing an unexpected loss of health coverage or a change in\nemployment, we are ready to help you explore your options.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a reminder, Coloradans can sign up for a plan throughout the year if they experience <a href=\"https:\/\/connectforhealthco.com\/get-started\/when-can-i-buy-insurance\/\">other qualifying life change events<\/a>, including loss of job-based coverage. Individuals may also be eligible to enroll in a new plan if they experience a loss in income. Those who qualify for Health First Colorado (Medicaid) or the Child Health Plan <em>Plus<\/em> program can enroll online through the <a href=\"https:\/\/coloradopeak.secure.force.com\/CPLOG\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">PEAK application<\/a> any time during the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:center\">###<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Connect for Health Colorado <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Connect for\nHealth Colorado is a public, non-profit entity established by the Colorado\nGeneral Assembly in 2011 to create a health insurance Marketplace.&nbsp;Since\n2013, we\u2019ve been helping individuals, families and small employers compare\nplans, apply for financial help and buy health insurance.
