DENVER<\/strong> \u2013 Gov. Jared Polis\nhas named a longtime leader in consumer health advocacy to the board of\ndirectors of Connect for Health Colorado\u00ae.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elisabeth\nArenales, who helped found the Colorado Consumer Health Initiative and was the\nHealth Program Director at the Colorado Center on Law and Policy for almost\ntwenty years, joins the 12-member board as an ex-officio member representing\nthe governor\u2019s office. She serves on the governor\u2019s staff as Senior Policy Advisor\nfor Health. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\nare extremely fortunate to have someone with Elisabeth\u2019s deep experience with\nthe healthcare challenges facing our state join our leadership team,\u201d said\nBoard Chair Adela Flores-Brennan. \u201cHer fierce dedication to improving health\noutcomes and lowering costs is a perfect fit with our mission to increase\naccess, affordability and choice for all Coloradans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms.\nArenales has been recognized by numerous organizations for her work addressing social\ndeterminants of health, including as a community health leader by the Robert\nWood Johnson Foundation and health policy leader by the Colorado Health\nFoundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nConnect for Health Colorado Board has nine voting members and three ex-officio\nmembers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
