The average net premium for those Coloradans is <strong>$117 per month<\/strong>, down from $136 per month last year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are happy that we are able to make health insurance affordable for so many people,\u201d said Kevin Patterson, Chief Executive Office of Connect for Health Colorado. \u201cThe number of our customers receiving help rose this year by seven percentage points, <strong>to 76 percent<\/strong>, an important increase. We know we have more work to do, and are committed to expanding our impact as we work with policy makers, our stakeholders and our customers throughout the state.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>The data are from the <a href=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/c4-media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/C4HC_OpenEnrollmentReport_WebVersion.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u>2019 Open Enrollment Report<\/u><\/a> released today, which gives a detailed look at the two-and-a-half-month Open Enrollment period that ended on Jan. 15. More than <strong>170,000 Coloradans<\/strong> signed up for health insurance through Connect for Health Colorado, the state\u2019s health insurance Marketplace, during that period.<\/p>\n<p>The more than <strong>129,000 customers<\/strong> who are receiving financial help are getting, on average, a discount of more than 80 percent on the cost of the plans they chose, which average $661 a month. Customers not getting financial help are paying an average $500 per month for their coverage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Connect for Health Colorado<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Connect for Health Colorado is a public, non-profit entity established by the Colorado General Assembly in 2011 to create a health insurance Marketplace.\u00a0 Since 2013, we\u2019ve been helping individuals, families and small employers compare plans, apply for financial help and buy health insurance.
