Yesterday, Colorado\u2019s Insurance Commissioner, Marguerite Salazar pointed that out in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colorado.gov\/pacific\/dora\/news\/insurance-commissioner-sends-letter-state%E2%80%99s-congressional-delegation\" target=\"_blank\">letter<\/a> to the nine members of the state\u2019s congressional delegation.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement prompted some coverage in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2017\/04\/20\/colorado-health-insurance-rate-hikes-possible\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Denver Post<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/denver\/news\/2017\/04\/20\/colorado-insurance-commissioner-warns-congress-of.html?ana=lnk\" target=\"_blank\">Denver Business Journal.<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Legislative Update <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>House Bill <a href=\"https:\/\/leg.colorado.gov\/bill-search?search_api_views_fulltext=HB17-1235\" target=\"_blank\">17-1235<\/a>, which is the measure that would provide financial assistance to some Coloradans with income falling between 400% and 500% of the federal poverty level, was passed out of the State House on Monday and was assigned to the Senate State, Veterans, &amp; Military Affairs Committee. A hearing is scheduled this coming Monday.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>In Recent News<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A one-page <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/f\/?id=0000015b-8ab0-df96-a9db-dff115c30001\" target=\"_blank\">summary<\/a> of proposed amendments to the American Health Care Act became public yesterday and fanned coverage of renewed efforts by Republicans in Congress. According to a Health Affairs <a href=\"http:\/\/healthaffairs.org\/blog\/2017\/04\/20\/a-new-attempt-emerges-to-bridge-gop-divisions-on-ahca\/\" target=\"_blank\">article<\/a>, the package could be considered as early as next Thursday. This <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/story\/2017\/04\/20\/obamacare-repeal-republicans-new-deal-237397\" target=\"_blank\">piece<\/a> in Politico assesses the politics around the renewed conversation.<\/p>\n<p>Two reports this week highlighted Colorado\u2019s gains in signing up the \u201celigible but not enrolled\u201d population. According to this Kaiser Family Foundation <a href=\"http:\/\/kff.org\/health-reform\/state-indicator\/total-monthly-medicaid-and-chip-enrollment\/?currentTimeframe=0&amp;sortModel=%7B%22colId%22:%22Percent%20Change%22,%22sort%22:%22desc%22%7D\" target=\"_blank\">chart<\/a>, Colorado saw the third highest rate in the country of increased Medicaid and CHP+ enrollments.
