If you already have insurance through Connect for Health Colorado, your coverage will end at the end of the year. There are two things you need to think about. First, do you want to stay on the same plan next year? Second, will you be able to receive the same amount of financial help next year?
Plan Options: You may be eligible for auto-renewal. This means that you will be automatically enrolled in the same plan next year without you needing to do anything. However, you do not have to stay in your current plan. You can come back to Connect for Health Colorado to shop for and buy a new plan during the Open Enrollment Period. Keep in mind, it is common for plans to change from year to year. It’s important to see if and how your plan is changing to know if it’s still right for you. Your health insurance company and Connect for Health Colorado will reach out to you to tell you about any changes that are taking place, and you can always contact your insurance company with questions. If you are not eligible for auto-renewal you will be notified of your other options by your insurance company and Connect for Health Colorado. You will need to come back to Connect for Health Colorado to shop for and buy a new plan during the Open Enrollment Period.
Financial Help Options: You may be eligible for auto-re-determination of financial help. This means that we will figure out how much financial help you are eligible for next year without you needing to do anything. However, if you expect your income to be different next year, contact us or report a change to your application to make sure you receive the right amount of financial help. If you have also experienced a Life Change Event such as moving, getting married, or having a baby, you should contact Connect for Health Colorado and update your current financial help application to have your eligibility for financial help re-determined. If you are not eligible for auto-re-determination, we will notify you and ask you to update or submit a new financial help application through Connect for Health Colorado.
